Tillery Williams serves as the County’s Deputy County Manager – a position that provides support for the administrative operations of County government. Williams was formerly the Director of Community Engagement, Equity, and Inclusion at the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) where he was responsible for building inclusive learning environments while fostering strong relationships with diverse stakeholder groups to promote the NSHE mission across Nevada. He has also held previous roles as Senior Fiscal and Policy Analyst, Management Analyst, and Principal Legislative Analyst for jurisdictions including the City of Reno, Nevada, The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, and King County, WA. He holds experience in policy and budget analysis, community engagement, special projects management, economic and workforce development, and legislative relations. Williams holds degrees from both Auburn University and the University of Idaho and has spent his entire career in public service.

The Deputy County Manager performs research, analysis, and project implementation work, and represents the County on various cross-jurisdictional initiatives, working groups, and other collaborations. 

The Deputy County Manager is responsible for the supervision of staff and department directors, including services such as Information Technology, Communications, Public Records, and Public Defense. This position acts as backup and support to the County Manager for County Council, and generally acts in the County Manager’s stead as required.
