The County Council is considering a request to form a hospital district on Lopez Island. Once the Council approves the proposition, it will go to the voters for approval on the April 25 Special Election ballot. Also on the April ballot will be the election of five at-large hospital district commissioners. These positions will be filled only if the proposition to form the district passes.
Online candidate filing for the proposed public hospital district commissioner positions will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, February 13, and close at 4 p.m. Friday, February 17.
